Dear Friends,
Malcolm's sermon on Father's Day centered on "Crossing to the Other Side" as Jesus did after teaching the parable of the mustard seed. He fell asleep in the boat and once the "furious squall" came up his disciples feared for their lives and woke Jesus who promptly calmed the storm. Malcolm went on to say that storms will come up in our lives and we should not try to calm them alone, but "wake Jesus" and have him help us through our difficult times.
We have tried to do just that as we move into new ministries at St. Thomas'. Brian Kerr has joined us as Organist/Choirmaster and those who have attended services recently seem to agree that a renewed energy has emerged in our music.
Jesse VanGeison (better half of our Junior Warden) has agreed to coordinate our efforts in Christian Formation and the first meeting was well attended by both experienced and "rookie" educators. The group will divide into teams to concentrate efforts on specific areas of education ranging from pre-K, 1st -6th grades, confirmation and adults. Please consider your own interests and talents in this area and talk to Jesse, Ann Copp or Malcolm with ideas or offerings of time and talent.
We urge you to attend services and experience for yourself the excitement which is gripping St. Thomas'.
Very truly yours,
Paul Corbin Greg VanGeison
