St. Thomas' Episcopal Church
St. Thomas’, with approximately 1,000 members, is located on 52 acres in Baltimore County, Maryland. Our parishioners worship in one of the Diocese of Maryland’s oldest continuously operating churches founded in 1742. Our faith community includes those whose families have worshiped at St. Thomas’ for generations, yet many of our members have no familial ties to St. Thomas’ or have joined us from other faith traditions. Our church is situated between rural Greenspring Valley and Owings Mills, a designated growth corridor, with a population of more than 20,000 people. St. Thomas’ is approximately 15 miles from downtown Baltimore and 50 miles from Washington, D.C.
Our Vision
St. Thomas’ Church exists to honor and serve God. We are an enduring community drawn together to seek, celebrate, and proclaim, by word and example, the boundless compassion of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
Following the example of Jesus Christ, our mission is to proclaim the love of God and one another through our worship and common life together.
Our Values
To accomplish our mission, St. Thomas’ Church bases its decisions and actions on the following core values:
-
Welcoming and embracing all who seek the Living Word of God.
-
Giving our hearts, resources, and talents to one another and to God’s creation.
-
Teaching our parish family, young and old, in Christian faith and values.
-
Carrying out Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world.
