Buildings & Grounds
St. Thomas’ Church dedicates significant resources to maintaining its 260-year old campus.   Most of the day-to-day maintenance is overseen by the Buildings and Grounds Manager who works with the staff, volunteers, and the Buildings and Grounds committee to set priorities for larger repairs, such as painting and renovation.   For more information on this committee, contact Brian K. McDonnell, Buildings and Grounds Manager:

Outreach
In our efforts to “carry out Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world,” St. Thomas’ is a parish with a strong tradition of community service, both in the immediate Owings Mills community as well as the Baltimore metropolitan area. Over the last 10 years, our definition of outreach has evolved and deepened. Previously, the committee functioned mainly as a funding body, whereas today we seek to involve our parish actively with the communities we support.

St. Thomas' Church offers a wide variety of ways to lend your time and talent to deepening and supporting the life of the parish.

Stewardship
At St. Thomas’, stewardship is understood in its broadest definition. Parishioners are encouraged to be stewards in the areas of time, talent, and treasure.  We rely on our members to share their time and talent to support community Outreach, Christian formation, fellowship, and a wide variety of lay ministries.

An annual “every member canvass” is the primary support for our annual operating budget.   The annual canvas is chaired by two members of the laity who work closely with the Senior Warden, the Financial Secretary, and with consultation from the Rector.  For more information click here or contact Senior Warden, Gregory VanGeison:  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Christian Formation and Education
St. Thomas’ Christian formation is designed to serve parishioners of all ages. Christian formation is coordinated by a full time Minister of Education with input from the newly created Christian Formation Committee. To learn more click here or contact The Rev. Ann Copp: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Music
The St Thomas’ music program is overseen by a part time Music Director. An Adult Choir with four paid professionals sings regularly at the 10:00 a.m. service as well as at special services.   The program is blessed with a recently restored 1949 Aeolian Skinner organ.  We also have Orff instruments available for children’s music.  To learn more contact Music Minister, Richard Lake: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Fellowship

The Hospitality Committee provides food for various Church activities, including Sunday Coffee Hour to encourage conversation and connections.  The members also coordinate many of our fellowship events:  the Homecoming picnic, the pancake supper, Newcomers parties, Sunday morning Summer Scrabble, and “Tuesdays at St. Thomas’,” an occasional series of pot luck dinners with speakers, films, concerts, and dramatic performances.  To learn more contact Junior Warden,
Mary O. Hogan
