Spiritual Keys of Liberation-Expanding the Conversation on Sobriety

In Honor of  The Rev. Samuel M. Shoemaker

Spiritual Keys of Liberation: Expanding the Conversation on Sobriety

Saturday, April 23, at 2:00pm in the Parish Hall

The Rev. Erin Jean Warde will reflect on the life and ministry of Sam Shoemaker as a jumping off point to delve into the breadth of ways we, as individuals, community, and as the Church, can expand the conversation around sobriety and recovery.

Erin Jean will honor the legacy of Shoemaker while also sharing her own path to sobriety from alcohol outside of a 12 Step recovery program. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on the role alcohol plays in their lives and in our culture, how they can broaden their understanding of what it looks like for a person to heal in their relationship with alcohol, and how they can become better advocates for those who have changed their relationships with alcohol.

Erin Jean will also preach at all three services (8:00am, 10:00am, and 5:00pm) on Sunday, April 24, when we will celebrate the Feast of Samuel Shoemaker.
